August shutdown?

As we enter the Summer season again, many European countries are enjoying a 'shutdown' period with many businesses either completely shut or operating with skeleton staff only. The countries most affected by the holidays are Spain, Italy and France, with knock-on effects being driving bans and slightly reduced availability for vans and trailers.

Here at Barrington Freight, the only skeleton staff we have are the ones that are not fed at home!

We will be in full operation throughout the Summer months as always and can offer you a full range of services to guarantee a solution to your freight needs. Whilst some groupage services may be affected due to reduction in capacities, we will always have an option to move your goods in time.

The Sunshine State

Last month we arranged a 20ft container from Leeds to Florida for a customer who was leaving the UK to start a new life in the USA.

We were contacted back in December 2007 by Paul Smart who was in the process of buying a European vehicle servicing business in the Longwood area of Florida.

After wading through all the Visa applications and selling his house, we got the go-ahead in June.

We positioned the container at his house in Leeds on 12/06/08 and he loaded it with help from family and friends. We have consigned the container to our agents AGI Logistics in who are arranging delivery and customs clearance in Florida.

We wish Paul well with his new life and his new business.

Apprentice runner-up thanks Barrington Freight for their support.

At Barrington Freight we are avid fans of the reality show "The Apprentice".

We were supporting the feisty Claire Young all the way until she was pipped at the post by winner Lee McQueen.

When it was aired that she was runner-up, Barrington MD Matt Everard sent Claire a consolation email and to his surprise he received an email back thanking him for his kind support.
