Donkeys ? - not us !

Last month our seafreight department handled a shipment of personal effects from Manila in the Philippines.

The shipment was arriving at Southampton by sea freight and needed to have transhipment customs documents prepared so it could be on-forwarded by road and ferry to St Martin in Guernsey.

Guernsey people are traditionally nicknamed donkeys or ânes, especially by Jersey people (who in turn are nicknamed crapauds - toads).

Our agents in Southampton raised the Customs paperwork, the shipment was collected from the sea container and sent via road and ferry to our agent in Guernsey.

On arrival at Guernsey customs clearance and delivery were arranged for the consignee. We certainly proved that we aren't donkeys !
